Providing lifelong tools for growth
through Equine-Assisted Therapy

When I first launched Serendipity Ranch, I focused on Equine-Assisted Learning, but soon realised I wanted to offer a deeper approach to truly help clients build tools they could carry for life. Becoming a certified John Maxwell Coach for Personal Growth and Leadership was transformative, enriching my sessions with insights and structure. Clients began returning not just for weeks but for months and even years, and I witnessed profound transformations in families, children, and adolescents.

To expand my impact, I became a registered counsellor with the ACA, specialising in Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), which aligns seamlessly with my approach to horsemanship. ACT’s emphasis on mindfulness and resilience complements my work with horses, creating a unique experience that encourages self-awareness and lasting change.

Horsemanship

My horsemanship philosophy—“horsemanship through feel”—draws on the teachings of Tom and Bill Dorrance, Ray Hunt, and Buck Brannaman. With over 30 years of experience, I am devoted to this lifelong learning journey, having attended clinics with Brannaman both in Tamworth and Arizona. I believe, as Bill Dorrance once said, that “Horsemanship through feel is handed down from one friend to another.”

Horses are intelligent, perceptive creatures capable of responding to human intent. Their responses reflect the person working with them, making each interaction an invaluable source of insight. This intuitive connection allows clients to engage deeply with their own intentions and emotions, guided by the horse’s instinctive feedback.
